Cabbage, carrots, and beets went up in price by 50%.
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine says onion prices rose by 67.5% in 2018 to almost UAH 17 (US$0.60) per kilogram.

"Prices of cabbage, carrots and beets increased by half. In addition to vegetables, such products as wheat, potatoes, cigarettes and bread significantly went up in price as well. Pasta and fever-reducing drugs also became more expensive. But only four products – apples, buckwheat, sugar, and eggs – went down in price last year," according to a January 15 morning TV show, "Snidanok z 1+1."
As was reported, Director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Networks Suppliers Oleksiy Doroshenko earlier said that vegetables and fruit might rise in price because of weather issues.
