Interim measures also affected the oligarch's Group DF Holdings Limited, the Russian daily Kommersant reported on January 16.

The court's ruling satisfied a claim filed by Russia's VTB Bank. The businessman's PJSC Ukrainian Chemical Products and Titanium Investments LLC reportedly owed over RUB 2.5 billion ($37.5 million) to the bank.

According to Kommersant's sources, VTB Bank lawyers lodged the lawsuit with the Limassol District Court on December 20, 2018. The interim measures were taken a week later. The hearing on the merits is scheduled for the end of January 2019.

VTB Bank's press service confirmed that Firtash's assets had been seized but declined to disclose details.
