Ukraine's GDP growth in 2018 estimated at over 3% – Kubiv

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv says the growth of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018 is estimated at more than 3%.

"The beginning of 2019 is positive: estimates suggest GDP growth in 2018 exceeded 3%, inflation was less than 10%, and the average salary grew by 22.5%," he wrote on Facebook on January 15.

Kubiv says the government will continue taking measures to ensure economic growth, infrastructure development, decentralization, national security, as well as reforms in health care, education and the social sphere.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the national budget for 2018 provided for the country's economic growth at 3%.

The National Bank projected a 3.4% increase in Ukraine's GDP in 2018, while the Ukrainian government expected economic growth at 3.2%.

Ukraine's key lender, the International Monetary Fund, forecast a 3.3% GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018, while the World Bank predicted a 3.5% increase.
