Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman signed the relevant government resolution on the SFS reorganization, the ministry said on its website on January 15.

The document provides for the division of the SFS into tax and customs services as separate central executive bodies, coordinated by the Cabinet via the finance minister.

The move will become the basis for the demilitarization of the tax authorities, as well as will improve the quality of services provided to taxpayers, increasing the transparency and accountability of the tax and customs authorities.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers in December 2018 decided to reorganize the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine by splitting it into state tax and customs agencies.

According to the memorandum under a new program of cooperation between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the SFS reorganization is to be completed by late April 2019.
