Ukrainian company to build 9 MW solar station in Chernihiv region

An 18 ha land plot has already been allocated for the construction.

Deputy of Mena City Council Oksana Bulavka says SUNVIN 28 Company plans to attract EUR 9 million to build a 9 MW solar power plant in the city of Mena in Ukraine's Chernihiv region.

On January 22, the City Council allocated an 18 hectares land plot to the enterprise construction of the solar power station, the official said.

"We supported the project as it provides for attracting investment in the Mena community and new jobs," she said.

In turn, Mena mayor Hennadiy Prymakov confirmed the report on his Facebook page, adding that 20 jobs will be created in the community.

According to him, SUNVIN 28 LLC intends to build a solar power plant in Mena as part of the "+ KNESS" project of a Ukrainian-based group of companies of international level that develops technologies and implements projects related to traditional and renewable energy. The company has been operating since 2009.

The mayor added that the solar power plant would be located near the Mena-2 electrical substation.

"Nearby, according to the general plan, it is planned to build an industrial park – a potential electricity consumer," he added.
