Ukraine plans to complete talks on FTA with Turkey in 2019

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has instructed the Cabinet to complete negotiations on an agreement on a free trade area (FTA) with Turkey in 2019.

The official made the announcement at a government meeting on Wednesday, January 23, adding that the talks are now at the final stage.

In turn, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv noted that the parties had agreed on more than 21,000 provisions of the future agreement, while the other 1,200 are yet to be coordinated during talks.

"This is a very sensitive and priority market for Ukraine's export strategy," Kubiv stressed.
