The French airline Aigle Azur has announced the launch of direct regular flights between Kyiv (Boryspil) and Paris Orly Airport from April 18.

The flights will be carried out three times a week, the Avianews aviation news portal said.

According to the published schedule, departures from Paris will be at 22:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrivals in Kyiv will be at 02:10 local time the next day.

Return flights from Kyiv are scheduled at 04:30 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with arrivals in Paris at 07:00.

Aigle Azur will use an Airbus A320 aircraft designed to carry 12 business class passengers and 168 economy class passengers. The cheapest fare is 274 euros (a return ticket) with hand luggage only (up to 10 kg).

In case of a successful launch of the flights, Aigle Azur will become the third air carrier on the Kyiv-Paris route. Currently, flights between Kyiv's Boryspil Airport and Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport are operated by Air France and UIA.

Under the current intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and France, only one airline from each side can operate on the Kyiv-Paris route with 14 flights a week. Therefore, for Aigle Azur to join the route, either Air France will have to leave, or Ukraine and France should change the terms of their joint air transport agreement.
