Akhmetov's DTEK Oil&Gas becomes co-owner of Odesaoblenergo

A subdivision of Ukraine's largest vertically integrated energy holding DTEK, owned by Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov, DTEK Oil&Gas, which produces natural gas and gas condensate, has become the owner of a 16.7% stake in Odesaoblenergo regional energy distribution company; the shares previously belonged to VS Energy owned by Russian businessmen.

Moreover, VS Energy has increased its stake in Odesaoblenergo from 31.52% to 51.52% of the company's shares, reads a statement posted in the National Securities and Stock Market Commission's information disclosure system.

As UNIAN reported earlier, DTEK Oil&Gas on January 16 became the owner of a 24.99% stake in Kyivoblenergo, previously owned by VS Energy.

In early January 2019, DTEK announced the conclusion of contracts for the sale of a 68.2949% stake in Odesaoblenergo and a 93.9978% stake in Kyivoblenergo controlled by VS Energy, the owner of a number of regional energy companies.

According to media reports, the VS Energy group, which is owned by Russian businessmen, controls 10 regional energy distribution companies: Kyivoblenergo, Chernivtsioblenergo, Zakarpattiaoblenergo, Odesaoblenergo, Khersonoblenergo, Rivneoblenergo, Zhytomyroblenergo, Khmelnytskoblenergo, Kirovohradoblenergo, and Mykolaivoblenergo.
