German auditors confirm safety of Ukraine's GTS

The state-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transportation system, Ukrtransgaz, has successfully passed an external supervisory audit for the quality, environmental, energy efficiency and safety management conducted by representatives of the international certification authority TÜV SÜD (Germany).

"There are no notable inconsistencies detected in the functioning of Ukrtransgaz's management systems. The auditors also identified four minor inconsistencies and provided 17 recommendations for improving the integrated management system," the company's press service said in a statement on January 30.

Thus, the auditors confirmed that Ukrtransgaz is a reliable partner and provides a safe and energy-efficient operation of Ukraine's gas transmission system (GTS).

"Ukrtransgaz has been working on the development, implementation, and certification of the management systems in compliance with the international standards since 2003. Starting from that time the company had applied a Quality Management System in line with State Standard ISO 9001:2001, which was extended in 2010 according to State Standard ISO 9001:2009. Since 2006, the Environmental Management System has been operating in the company in keeping with the State Standard ISO 14001:2006. In addition, in 2012 Ukrtransgaz was already certified by the German assessment authority TUV Rheinland Cert for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2008), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004) and Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSAS 18001:2007), and from 2014 for the Energy Management System (ISO 50001:2011)," the press service said.

The German assessment company TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH is accredited by DAkkS, the national accreditation authority of the Federal Republic of Germany, whose certificates are recognized in more than 80 countries.
