Ukraine saw a surplus of the balance of payments in 2018 for the fourth year in a row, totaling US$2.877 billion, which was 12% up from the surplus recorded in 2017.

In December 2018 alone, the surplus of the country's balance of payments was $1.810 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The deficit of the current account in 2018 was estimated at $4.653 billion, which was almost twice the figure posted in 2017.
The inflow to the financial account over the period under review amounted to $7.494 billion, or 1.5 times more than in 2017.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's balance of payments in 2017 stood at $2.566 billion, which was twice the surplus posted in 2016. The balance showed a surplus for the third year in a row.
