The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has improved its forecast for Ukraine's international reserves in 2019 from US$18.6 billion, to $20.6 billion.

The forecast for 2020 was also revised upwards from $19.1 billion, to $21.4 billion, according to the regulator's website.
Ukraine's international reserves are expected to reach $21.4 billion in 2021, it said.
According to First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova, the country's international reserves remain at their maximum level over the past five years, amounting to $20.8 billion.
"Our reserves are the largest over [the past] five years, namely $20.8 billion," she said. "They still remain at the same level."
Net purchases of foreign currency by the NBU on the interbank forex market have exceeded $120 million since the beginning of 2019, Rozhkova added.
UNIAN memo. Ukraine's gross international reserves in 2018 rose by 10.6%, to US$20.82 billion, updating the five-year maximum.
Building up net international reserves is one of Ukraine's obligations under the cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund.
