Ukraine Cabinet puts 21 SOEs in "large privatization" list

The government decided to return to the idea of selling heat-generating companies.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has published a list of state-owned enterprises put out for sale in 2019, consisting of 21 companies.

The list includes Ternopiloblenergo, Zaporizhiaoblenergo, Kharkivoblenergo, Mykolayivoblenergo, Khmelnytskoblenergo regional energy companies, and also five heat-generating enterprises (Kherson CHP, Odessa CHPP, Dnipro CHPP, Kryvyi Rih heating plant, and Severodonetsk CHPP, as well as Centrenergo company.

In addition, United Mining and Chemical Company, Krasnolymanska Coal Company, Azovmash Coal Company, Electrotyazhmash Plant SE, Sumykhimprom, Odesa Portside Chemical Plant, Oriana, President Hotel, State Public Joint Stock Company NJSC Ukragroleasing, and Indar Pharmaceutical Company.

It should be noted that following the Cabinet meeting on January 16 of this year, where the list was approved, acting head of the State Property Fund, Vitaly Trubarov, stated that the government had excluded from the list all heat-generating enterprises.

At the same meeting, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman instructed to develop a mechanism for the transfer of CHPPs to local councils, who appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers on their readiness to accept them as municipal property.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in May last year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of large-scale state-run companies to be sold in 2018, which included 23 enterprises.
