The status of law No. 9355-5 on amendments to Section 10 "Transitional Provisions" of the Land Code of Ukraine regarding the extension of the ban on the sale of agricultural land is indicated as "returned with the president's signature."

The document says that the extension of the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land for one year will allow the lawmakers to regulate the farmland circulation procedure and develop the necessary legal acts.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade proposed that the president veto a bill on the extension of farmland sale.

Late in December 2018, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on amendments to Section 10 "Transitional Provisions" of the Land Code of Ukraine regarding the extension of the ban on the sale of agricultural land, which extended until 2020 the moratorium on the sale and purchase of agricultural land in Ukraine, which has been in effect since 2001.
