Hryvnia on Ukraine's interbank market strengthens to UAH 27.12/27.15 per dollar on Feb 5

The National Bank set the official hryvnia exchange rate for Wednesday, February 6, at UAH 27.2159 to the dollar and UAH 31.0887 to the euro.

The hryvnia against the U.S. dollar on the Ukrainian interbank forex market by the close of trading on Tuesday, February 5, was set at UAH 27.12/27.15 per U.S. dollar, which was 24 kopecks stronger than the day before.

The hryvnia's quotes against the euro were at the level of UAH 30.95/30.99 per euro, allowing the national currency to be 30 kopecks stronger than by the close of trading on Monday, February 4, a dealer of a commercial bank told UNIAN.

UNIAN memo. The national currency of Ukraine in 2018 strengthened by 1.4% to UAH 27.6883 against the U.S. dollar as of January 1, 2019. Ukraine's national budget for 2019 is based on the forex rate of the hryvnia to the U.S. dollar projected at UAH 29.4 per U.S. dollar by the end of the year.

According to the consensus forecast of experts interviewed by UNIAN, the hryvnia exchange rate to the dollar at the end of 2019 will be about UAH 30 per U.S. dollar. The weakest hryvnia against the U.S. dollar was in February 2015, when the forex rate was UAH 30.01 per U.S. dollar.
