"[Citrus] imports totaled 338,000 tonnes [in 2018]. Tangerines and oranges accounted for almost 70%. The shares of lemons and grapefruits were 20% and 6%, respectively," the TV news service TSN.ua reported on February 11.
Turkey is a major supplier of citrus fruits to Ukraine. It is followed by Egypt and Italy. The latter has recently displaced Spain from the Top 3 suppliers, it said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in late January 2019, Ukraine's State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service banned a batch of infected citrus fruit from Turkey and Egypt from being imported into Ukraine.
