$1.8 bln to be earmarked for repairs and construction of local and national roads / Photo from UNIAN
The CEO did not name the exact number of local roads that would be overhauled, noting the responsibility of the authorities in this regard.
CEO of the Ukravtodor Automobile Road Agency Slawomir Nowak says the agency plans to restore from 1,500 to 1,800 kilometers of Ukrainian roads in 2019, which corresponds to the last year's level.
"As for the public roads we are responsible for. I think they will be overhauled at the level of the previous year, that is from 1,500 to 1,800 kilometers," he told UNIAN on February 21.
At the same time, Nowak added he could not voice the exact number of local roads that would be repaired since that was the responsibility of the authorities.

"I believe that there won't be fewer than last year, but maybe more. Let me remind you that this year, the funding of the regional state administrations grew by UAH 3 billion (US$110.4 million) from the previous one," he said.
As UNIAN reported, according the State Road Agency of Ukraine, Ukravtodor, about UAH 20 billion ($736 million) will be allocated for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of public roads of state importance in 2019 from the total amount of UAH 33.4 billion ($1.2 billion) envisaged by the Road Fund for such roads. In total, over UAH 50 billion ($1.8 billion) is earmarked in the budget for repairs and construction of roads of local and state importance, which is a record amount over Ukraine's independence.
