In particular, this refers to the markets of Albania (poultry and products made of it); the Republic of Ghana (poultry and products made of it); Hong Kong (poultry and products made of it, eggs and egg products); the Republic of Macedonia (dairy products and animal feed), the Kingdom of Morocco (poultry, egg products); the UAE (sheep and goat, day-old newly hatched poultry, hatching eggs, and poultry); the Republic of Serbia (eggs and egg products); the Republic of Tajikistan (meat, meat and dairy products, fish and seafood, raw materials of animal origin, and feed of plant origin); the Republic of Tunisia (poultry); Turkey (fresh, chilled and frozen meat in carcasses/cattle separated meat); and Montenegro (eggs and egg products), etc., the agency's press service said.

"Judging by the absolute volume of trade, over the past ten years, Ukraine has managed to make a breakthrough in animal products shipments for some commodity items. Furthermore, last year, our country expanded the geography of our products exports and the number of enterprises that received the right to export food of animal origin increased as well," the press service cited the agency's head, Volodymyr Lapa, as saying.

It is noted that due to the approximation of the country's legislation and standards to the best practices of the European Union, 306 Ukrainian enterprises today have the right to export their products to the EU states, including 126 food producers (poultry, fish, honey, eggs, and dairy products).

In addition, 20 international export certificates and 24 certificates for the import of animals and animal products were developed and approved in 2018 — a total of 44 forms of international certificates for imports and exports of products subject to licensing.

The move allowed leveling the economic impact caused by the loss of the market in Russia and contributed to raising the country's reputation as a reliable partner.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2018 increased the foreign trade turnover of agricultural products by US$1.7 billion from 2017, to $24.3 billion, including $18.8 billion in agri-food exports, according to Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

Ukraine in 2018 boosted exports to the European Union by 8.7% against 2017, to $6.3 billion.
