PrivatBank's clients buy 3 kg of gold per week, despite crisis

The price of gold in 2019 may rise from the current US$1,300–$1,320 per troy ounce to $1,450–$1,500.

Clients of PrivatBank, the largest bank in Ukraine, in 2018 bought more than 131 kilograms of gold bars; on the average, the bank sold almost 3 kilograms of gold per week last year.

In particular, the clients buy standard 100-gram bars and collectible gift gold bars weighing from 1 gram to 1 troy ounce, the bank's press service said on February 25.

Referring to the forecasts of world analysts, the financial institution noted that the price of gold in 2019 might rise from the current US$1,300–$1,320 per troy ounce to $1,450–$1,500.

The bank sells gold bars through Banking Metals Centers in the cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kramatorsk, Zaporizhia, as well as via a network of VIP customer service centers across Ukraine, the report said.

UNIAN memo. Dnipro-based PrivatBank has been operating in Ukraine since 1992. It is Ukraine's No. 1 bank in terms of assets. The financial institution in 2018 posted UAH 11.7 billion (US$433.3 million) in profit.
