Ukraine's Agrarian Ministry raises forecast for grain exports in MY 2018-2019

Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olena Kovalyova says the ministry has raised its forecast for grain exports in the 2018-2019 marketing year (MY, July 2018-June 2019) from 47 million tonnes to 49 million tonnes.

"Ukraine remains a stable and reliable partner and exporter of agricultural products. In this marketing year, we expect grain shipments from Ukraine to reach 49 million tonnes," she said at the 8th session of the AMIS Rapid Response Forum in Geneva.

According to Kovalyova, Ukraine, as one of the key participants in the grain market, attaches great importance to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, as well as to coordinated policies on the international market for agricultural and food products.

As UNIAN reported, the Agrarian Ministry earlier predicted grain exports in MY 2018-2019 might stood at 47 million tonnes.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian agrarians in MY 2017-2018 exported 39.9 million tonnes of grain.
