IMF mission to arrive in Kyiv on March 5

The experts will work until March 13.

A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ukraine's key donor, will arrive in Kyiv on March 5.

A technical team consisting of several IMF specialists will be in working in Kyiv from March 5 to March 13, 2019, the IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine has said, referring to IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Gosta Ljungman.

The Fund's experts will discuss economic developments and progress of reform under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) program with Ukraine, it said.

The IMF Executive Board approved a new 14-month SBA for Ukraine in the amount of $3.9 billion. Ukraine received the first disbursement under the new program in the amount of $1.4 billion on December 21, 2018.

Another two disbursements worth $1.3 billion each are expected after the reviews of the implementation of the program conditions in May and in November.

The structural benchmarks of the program include the approval of the so-called split law, a report on the return of assets of state-owned banks, the reorganization of the State Fiscal Service (SFS), the appointment of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court, bank recapitalization, the completion of an external audit of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), and other provisions.
