Turkey is in talks on a free trade area with 17 countries now.
Turkey expects to sign a free trade area (FTA) agreement with Ukraine in the near future.
"In particular, negotiations with Ukraine are at the final stage. An agreement on free trade with Ukraine may be signed soon. An agreement with Japan will be signed in June," Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, according to the Ankara-headquartered Anadolu Agency's Russian service.
In particular, Turkey is in talks on a free trade area with 17 countries, including Ukraine, Japan, Ecuador, Thailand, and Indonesia.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman instructed his government late in January 2019 to complete negotiations on the FTA agreement with Turkey in 2019.
In turn, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv noted that the parties had agreed on more than 21,000 provisions of the future agreement, while the other 1,200 are yet to be coordinated during the talks.
"We talked about our future FTA deal at a joint Ukraine-Turkey strategic planning group meeting," Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin said earlier. "Trade estimated at $4 billion is far below our potential."
Ukraine and Turkey originally planned to formalize the FTA deal by the end of 2018.
"We think we will be able to achieve our goal of $10 billion in trade balance thanks to this deal," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
