However, the prices of onions and cabbage remain high.
Prices of vegetables comprising the so-called borsch kit have decreased in Ukraine.
"As of early March, the cost of most winter vegetables is lower than last year. Prices for carrots on wholesale markets fell by 6%, beets by 15%, and potatoes fell by almost 20% over the last week of February," according to a March 4 morning TV show, "Snidanok z 1+1."
However, the prices of onions and cabbage remain high. They are sold twice as expensive as in 2018.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the prices of vegetables from the borsch kit in 2018 almost doubled, to UAH 56.6, or around US$2.

Inflation in Ukraine in January 2019 was 9.2% compared to January 2018 against 9.8% in December 2018 year-over-year.
The National Bank of Ukraine predicted a slowdown in inflation to 6.3% in 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers – to 7.4%, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank – to 7.3%.
According to the consensus forecast by experts polled by UNIAN, this year, Ukraine will see a slowdown in consumer price growth to 7.2%.
