Finance Ministry borrows almost UAH 5.5 bln, US$7.9 mln in domestic market

Ukraine's Finance Ministry has borrowed UAH 5.481 billion (US$204.3 million) and US$7.9 million for the national budget at the latest weekly auction to place government domestic loan bonds.

The hryvnia funds were raised through the placement of securities with 98-, 182-, 217-, 273-, 532-, 686-, and 1,036-day maturity periods and a weighted average yield of 19.5%, 19%, 19%, 18.5%, 18.07%, 18%, and 17.25% per annum, respectively, according to the ministry's website.

The foreign currency funds were raised through the placement of securities in U.S. dollars with 27-day maturity periods and a weighted average yield of 7.25% per annum.

The total hryvnia equivalent of the funds raised was UAH 5.693 billion at the NBU forex rate.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Finance Ministry in January 2019 borrowed UAH 24.402 billion ($909.5 million), $583 million, and EUR 33 million for the national budget at weekly auctions to place government domestic loan bonds.
