Moscow's Basmanny court has extended the term of the arrest imposed on Ukrainian Roshen's confectionery factory in Lipetsk, Russia.

"At the request of the investigator, the period of conservative seizure imposed on [the factory's] 12 real estate facilities has been extended until June 13, 2019," the Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper said, citing an announcement on the company's website.

At the same time, the factory is able to use the facilities but cannot sell or lease them out.

Seized are a finished products warehouse, four workshops, an auxiliary building, and seven land plots with a total area of more than 700,000 square meters.

"The company says that production at the Lipetsk factory was completely stopped on April 1, 2017. Also, the trading house and finished goods warehouse ceased their operations. The factory's facilities were mothballed. Ukrainian-made Roshen products have not been imported into the Russian Federation since 2013," it said.

Earlier Roshen said the Russian tax authorities were "robbing" the Lipetsk factory. Meanwhile, Roshen's Kyiv confectionary in 2018 quadruplicated net profit from 2017, to UAH 11.1 million (US$411,000).
