Poland was a major supplier of pork to Ukraine.
Pork bought by Ukraine abroad in the first two months of 2019 was estimated at US$7.9 million.
Pork imports over the period under review totaled 4,300 tonnes, Ukraine's TV news service TSN said.
"Poland was a major supplier of pork to Ukraine: pork worth $4.7 million was bought there. Germany ranks second. In January-February 2019, Ukraine imported pork from Germany to the tune of $1.5 million," it said.

Denmark was third. Pork imported from Denmark totaled US$829,000.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the price of the so-called "meat basket" in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 11% against 2017, to UAH 575 (US$20.67). The basket consists of one kilogram of chicken fillet and carcass, pork, beef, and first-grade cooked sausage each.
Poultry was the most affordable type of meat in Ukraine in 2019. Its price in January 2019 was UAH 58.66 (US$2.17) per kg on the average.
