Hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market on Wednesday had settled by the middle of trading day at UAH 28.00/32.10 to the dollar, a broker at a commercial bank has told UNIAN.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the average weighted exchange rate of hryvnia as of 1230 was UAH 24.00 to the dollar. By this time two agreements with a trading volume reaching $170,000 had been signed.
Hryvnia quotes against the euro settled at UAH 36.16/37.86, while against the Russian ruble they settled at UAH 0.44/0.51. According to the broker, trading on the market is virtually dead due to the regulation of the National Bank of Ukraine prohibiting authorized banks from buying foreign currency on behalf of customers until February 27.
As UNIAN reported earlier, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on Tuesday, February 24, dropped on the interbank market to UAH 32.00/33.50 to the dollar, according to a broker at a commercial bank.
According to the source, demand exceeded supply, and some transactions spiked at the rate of UAH 34.00 - but these were sporadic.
