Growth of Ukraine's real GDP in 2018 accelerates to 3.3%, seven-year high

The growth of Ukraine's real gross domestic product in 2018 accelerated to 3.3%, a seven-year-high, from 2.5% in 2017.

Ukraine's GDP growth has been accelerating for the third year in a row, the country's State Statistics Service said on its website.

So, the economy grew by 5.5% in 2011, by 0.2% in 2012, there was zero growth in 2013, which was followed by a decline by 6.6% in 2014 and 9.8% in 2015. Growth was 2.4% in 2016 and 2.5% in 2017.

The State Statistics Service noted that Ukraine's GDP in the first quarter of last year grew by 3.3% in annual terms, by 3.8% in the second quarter, by 2.8% in the third quarter, and by 3.5% in the fourth quarter.

Nominal GDP was UAH 705 billion in 1Q 2018, UAH 810.8 billion in 2Q 2018, UAH 994.9 billion in 3Q 2018, and UAH 1.048 trillion in 4Q 2018.

In general, last year nominal GDP amounted to UAH 3.599 trillion, which was UAH 84,190 per capita.

The report does not include data from Russia-occupied Crimea and Donbas.
