Decline in industrial output in Ukraine in February slows to 1.8%

The report excludes data from Russia-occupied areas, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and partly Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The decline in industrial production in Ukraine in February 2019 year-over-year (y-o-y) slowed to 1.8% (without calendar adjustment) from 3.3% in January 2019.

The decline in industrial production in February y-o-y also slowed to 1.8% from 2.9% in January 2019 if calculated using calendar adjustment, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.

Compared to January 2019, industrial production in February fell by 1.9% (without calendar adjustment) and by 0.6% (using calendar adjustment).

The steepest decline in February 2019 from February 2018 was recorded in the chemical industry (19.5%), textile production (14.6%), and production of electrical equipment (9.9%).

The largest growth was recorded in the pharmaceutical industry (23.1%), the production of computers, electronic and optical products (19.1%), coal production (9%).

Industrial production in January-February 2019 y-o-y decreased by 2.5%, whereas there was a 3.6% growth in January-February 2018 y-o-y.

The State Statistics Service recalled that its report excludes data from Russia-occupied areas, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and partly Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, industrial production in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 1.1% after falling by 0.1% in 2017.
