Deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in first two months grows by 1.6 times

The deficit amounted to US$316 million.

The deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in January-February 2019 grew by 1.6 times year-over-year (y-o-y), to US$316 million.

The current account for the period under review was in surplus, totaling US$146 million, but it was 22% down y-o-y, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported.

An outflow from the financial account was estimated at US$459 million, which was 20% up on the outflow y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's balance of payments in 2018 was in surplus for the fourth year in a row. It was US$2.877 billion, which was 12% up on the country's surplus in 2017.
