Average salary in Ukraine grows to US$348 in Feb

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee grew by 2.2% in Ukraine in February 2019 against January 2019, while rising by 20.4% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 9,429, or US$348.

Real wages in Ukraine in February 2019 increased by 1.7% from January 2019 and by 10.7% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service reported.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee in Ukraine in February 2019 was almost 2.3 times up from the minimum wage set at UAH 4,173 ($154).

The average salary in Kyiv in February 2019 was UAH 14,513 ($536), it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine grew on January 1, 2019, from UAH 3,723 ($137) to UAH 4,173 ($154).

The National Bank of Ukraine expects a slowdown in the growth of wages and salaries in Ukraine, forecasting an increase in nominal wages by 16% and by 10% in 2019 and 2020, respectively, or by 7% and 5% in real terms.
