Ukraine cuts oilseeds exports since July

Oilseeds exports totaled 3.9 million tonnes in the past nine months.

Ukraine has cut exports of oilseeds by 12.8% since July 1, 2018, the beginning of the current 2018-2019 marketing year (MY, July 2018 – June 2019) year-over-year, to 3.9 million tonnes.

"During the current marketing year, 3.9 million tonnes of oilseeds were exported, whereas 4.4 million tonnes of oilseeds were exported during the same period of the previous marketing year," Ukraine's State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection's press service said in a statement.

Since the beginning of the current marketing year, Ukraine has exported 37 million tonnes of grain, which is 16.7% up on the same period of the previous marketing year.

Yet, wheat exports have decreased by 7%, to 13 million tonnes, those of maize have increased by 66%, to 20 million tonnes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2018 reduced exports of oilseeds by 7.5%, to 4.8 million tonnes. According to the Ministry of Agrarian and Food Industry, farmers exported 39.9 million tonnes of grain in the 2017-2018 marketing year (July 2017 – June 2018). Exports of oilseeds in MY 2017-2018 increased by 52% compared with the previous MY, to 3.5 million tonnes.
