Labor migrants transfer nearly US$11 bln to Ukraine in 2018 – NBU

The largest amount of private remittances to Ukraine comes from Poland, Russia, and the USA.

The volume of private remittances from labor migrants to Ukraine in 2018 amounted to US$10.88 billion, which is 17.5% higher year-over-year.

The largest amount of private remittances to Ukraine comes from Poland, Russia, the USA, the Czech Republic, and Italy, as reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine.

One third of remittances accounted for Poland, and compared with the previous year, the amount of transfers from this country grew by 16.4%, to US$3.626 billion.

Russia is the next in the list of countries from which the largest amount of remittances comes, but transfers from this country have decreased by 26.6%, to US$948 million over the past year.

The U.S. ranks 3rd. The amount of transfers from this country in 2018 grew by 28.1%, to US$870 million.

The amount of remittances from the Czech Republic in 2018 grew by almost 50%, to US$846 million, as well as by 9.8%, to US$492 million, from Italy.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2017, the volume of private remittances to Ukraine amounted to $9.3 billion, which is 24% higher than the figure for 2016.
