In the first three months of 2019, the hryvnia strengthened against the dollar by 1.8%, while climbing 3.7% against the euro.
The National Bank of Ukraine on Wednesday evening weakened the official hryvnia exchange rate by 11 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 27.08 to the dollar.
The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for April 4:
US$100 costs UAH 2,708.1121 (UAH 2,697.4158 as of April 3);
EUR 100 costs UAH 3,044.7304 (UAH 3,021.1057 as of April 3);

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank says that this year the situation with the hryvnia rate is not typical for the past years. In particular, there were no devaluation of the national currency, which started in December and lasted most of January all previous years.
