Ukraine and the UAE have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of aviation, the press office of Ukrainian state aircraft builder Antonov has reported, according to Ukrainian weekly Novoe Vremya.
In particular, the states will enhance their current cooperation in technical support for the operation of An-124-100 Ruslan transport aircraft operated by Maximus, the largest all-cargo airline operator in the UAE.
It is also planned to create a joint base for maintaining aircraft and providing services to support oversized and outsized cargo transportation.
A company from the UAE also confirmed its interest in acquiring civil version An-178 transport aircraft.
Earlier it was reported that Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko had signed a military-technical cooperation deal between Ukraine and the UAE when attending the IDEX-2015 international exhibition of armaments and military equipment in Abu Dhabi.
