World Bank worsens forecast for Ukraine's economic growth to 2.7%

The bank estimated the growth of real GDP in Ukraine in 2018 at 3.3%.

The World Bank, one of Ukraine's key lenders, has revised downward forecast for real gross domestic product (GDP) growth in Ukraine in 2019 from 2.9% to 2.7%.

According to the bank's review of the economic situation in Europe and Central Asia, Ukraine's economy is expected to grow by 3.4% in 2020 and by 3.8% in 2021.

At the same time, the World Bank estimated the growth of real GDP in Ukraine in 2018 at 3.3%.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the growth of Ukraine's real gross domestic product in 2018 accelerated to 3.3%, a seven-year-high, from 2.5% in 2017. Ukraine's GDP growth has been accelerating for the third year in a row.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine projected Ukraine's GDP growth in 2019 at 3%, the National Bank at 2.5%, the International Monetary Fund at 2.7%.

According to the consensus forecast compiled by UNIAN based on the experts' estimates, Ukraine's economic growth will slow down to 2.8% in 2019.
