Naftogaz pays $1.1 bln in taxes, dividends to budget in Q1

Revenue from Naftogaz group exceeded 14% of total national budget revenue in Q1 2019.

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine in January-March 2019 (Q1) paid to the national budget about UAH 29.5 billion (US$1.1 billion) in taxes and dividends.

"Naftogaz Group paid UAH 29.5 billion of taxes and duties to the state and local budgets in January-March 2019," the company said in a statement on April 11.

Revenue from Naftogaz Group exceeded 14% of total national budget revenue in Q1 2019, it said.

For comparison, the national budget for 2019 earmarked UAH 19 billion ($709.7 million) for the National Health Service for primary health care and UAH 55 billion ($2.1 billion) for household subsidies.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Naftogaz in 2018 paid UAH 137.8 billion (US$5.1 billion) in taxes and dividends, which was almost a third more than in 2017.

The corresponding sum Naftogaz paid in 2017 was over UAH 107.3 billion ($4 billion).

Naftogaz develops oil and gas fields, produces crude oil and natural gas. Its core business is also transportation and trade in fuel through its own network of filling stations.
