Cheese imports into Ukraine in the three months of 2019 increased by 43%, to 4,040 tonnes.
Cheese exports from Ukraine in January-March 2019 (Q1) totaled 1,600 tonnes, which was 14% down year-over-year (y-o-y).

The shipments of Ukrainian cheese abroad in monetary terms over the period under review shrank by 19%, to US$5,800 million, according to customs statistics reports posted by Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS) on its website.
Cheese imports into Ukraine in Q1 2019 increased by 43%, to 4,040 tonnes, while the imports in monetary terms rose by 31%, to $18.9 million.
Exports of condensed milk and cream from Ukraine in January-March 2019 fell by 23%, to 5,900 tonnes, while in money terms, they shrank by 13.6% to $11.3 million. Imports of these products over the period under review decreased by 10.6%, to 468 tonnes worth $970,000, the report said.
Ukrainian producers in Q1 2019 exported 5,900 tonnes of creamery butter, which was 35% down y-o-y. The exports in monetary terms totaled $23.8 million, which was 38% less than figure reported in Q1 2018.
Over the period under review, creamery butter imports into Ukraine shrank by a third, to 211 tonnes worth $1.4 million.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine exported 8,000 tonnes of cheese in 2018, which was 8% down against 2017. Cheese imports into Ukraine in the past year soared by 37%, to 13,700 tonnes, according to customs statistics reports.
