The National Bank of Ukraine on Wednesday continued to strengthen the hryvnia official rate, bringing the value of Ukraine’s ailing currency to UAH 23.77 to the dollar.
As of 1400 the central bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies:
$100 – UAH 2,377.1263 (as of 1400 on March 3 it was UAH 2,482.0658);
EUR 100 – UAH 2,654.7747 (as of 1400 on March 3 it was UAH 2,786.6153);
10 Russian rubles – UAH 3.8116 (as of 1400 on March 3 it was UAH 3.9889).
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva, the fundamental level of the exchange rate on the program with the International Monetary Fund is the rate of UAH 20-22 to the dollar.
According to Gontareva, today there is every reason to predict the quick return of the exchange rate to the fundamental level.
