The moratorium serves those who are trying to exploit an opaque land market, the head of state says.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says the extension of the moratorium on farmland purchase and sale is directly related to corruption.
"I believe that the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people will become much richer when the moratorium is lifted. I think that the moratorium on land serves those who are trying to exploit the opaque land market. I believe that the extension of the moratorium is directly linked with corruption. I don't want to have anything to do with it," he said at a meeting with businesses on April 15.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in December of last year, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, extended the moratorium on farmland purchase and sale in Ukraine from 2001 until 2020.
