Ukraine sees 7.3% decline in unemployment in March 2019

Ukraine saw a 7.3% decline in the unemployment rate in March 2019 compared to February 2019.

There were 340,700 officially registered unemployed Ukrainians in March 2019, the country's State Statistics Service has said.

The number of the unemployed in the urban area was 184,400 people, while there were 156,300 jobless in the rural area.

Among them, there were 189,600 women and 151,100 men.

The number of job openings in March this year was 100,000, which was 18% up on the previous month.

There were three candidates per vacancy.

The report does not include data from Russia-occupied territory in Ukraine, namely, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, the State Statistics Committee reported that the unemployment rate in Ukraine in 2018 decreased to 8.8% from 9.9% in 2017, to 1.578 million people.
