Sunflower oil output in Ukraine grows by 13.6% in Q1

The output of sunflower oil in March 2019 alone rose by 22.9% compared to March 2018.

Production of crude sunflower oil in Ukraine in January-March 2019 (Q1) stood at 1.49 million tonnes, which was 13.6% up year-over-year (y-o-y).

The output of sunflower oil in March 2019 alone rose by 22.9% y-o-y, to 527,000 tonnes, while it grew by 9.8% from February 2019, Ukraine's State Statistics Service said.

Production of margarines and edible fats in Q1 2019 shrank by 6.5% y-o-y, to 35,600 tonnes, while the output of this produce in March 2019 alone fell by 3.4% y-o-y, yet it grew by 13.5% from February 2019, to 13,200 tonnes.

The report does not include information from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, production of crude sunflower oil in Ukraine in 2018 totaled 4.8 million tonnes, which was 7.7% down y-o-y.
