Ukraine sees retail trade grow to US$8.9 bln in Jan-March

Retail turnover increased most in Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Retail trade in Ukraine grew by 7.4% in comparable prices in January-March 2019 year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 235.804 billion (US$8.9 billion).

Retail turnover increased most in Vinnytsia region (by 11.7%, to UAH 6.627 billion/US$249.2 million), Kyiv region (by 11.7% to UAH 16.827 billion/US$632.8 million), Dnipropetrovsk region (by 9.3% to UAH 22.21 billion/US$835.3 million), and Lviv region (by 9.7% to UAH 14.724/US$553.7 million), according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service's website.

Retail trade in March 2019 alone shrank by 13.9% against February 2019, while it grew by 8.9% from March 2018.

Trade through retail outlets in January-March 2019 was estimated at UAH 170.695 billion, or US$6.4 billion, which was 8.2% up y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail trade in Ukraine increased by 6.1% in 2018 from 2017.
