National Bank: Hryvnia strengthens against U.S. dollar by 2.6% in April

In January-April 2019, the hryvnia strengthened against the dollar by 4.3%, while rising against the euro by 7%, the regulator said on its website.

The hryvnia, Ukraine's national currency, in April strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 2.6% to UAH 26.49 (at the official rate of the National Bank of Ukraine/NBU), and rose against the euro by 3.5%, up to UAH 29.49.

In January-April 2019, the hryvnia strengthened against the dollar by 4.3%, while rising against the euro by 7%, the regulator said on its website.

Ukraine's national budget for 2019 is based on the forex rate expected at UAH 29.4 to the dollar by the end of 2019.

According to the consensus forecast compiled by UNIAN on the basis of experts' estimates, the hryvnia exchange rate against the U.S. dollar at the end of 2019 is expected at UAH 30.

The hryvnia's historic low against the U.S. dollar was UAH 30.01 per U.S. dollar in February 2015.
