Ukraine saw a 9% rise in imports of natural gas in January-April 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, to 2.4 billion cubic meters (bcm).
The natural gas was bought in Europe only, state-run Ukrtransgaz, the operator of Ukraine's gas transport system, has said.

In particular, Ukraine bought 1.2 bcm from Slovakia, 0.4 bcm from Poland and 0.7 bcm from Hungary in the first four months, Ukrtransgaz said.
As UNIAN reported, imports of natural gas to Ukraine fell by 24.6%, or 3.46 bcm, in 2018 from 2017, to 10.59 bcm.
Late in November 2015, Ukraine stopped buying natural gas from Russia's Gazprom.
