Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 3.7% up in Q1

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 1.1%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-March 2019 (Q1) was estimated at US$2.013 billion, which was 3.7% up from the deficit reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 1.1%, to $2.103 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services shrank by 33.4%, to $90 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according the National Bank of Ukraine, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled $11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017.

The State Statistics Service in turn estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at $5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
