Ukraine reduces trade in goods with Russia to US$2.3 bln in Q1

Meanwhile, trade with the EU grew to US$9.5 billion.

Ukraine in the first quarter of 2019 reduced trade in goods with Russia by 11% year-over-year, to US$2.339 billion.

Over the period under review, exports of goods to the Russian Federation decreased by 16%, to US$595 million, while imports fell by 9%, to US$1.744 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine said on its website.

Foreign trade in goods with the European Union (EU) countries grew by 10%, to US$9.505 billion. In particular, exports of goods to the EU grew by 6%, to US$4.318 billion, while imports rose by 14%, to US$5.187 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-March 2019 was US$2.013 billion, which was 3.7% up on the deficit in the same period of the previous year.
