Ukraine's major car manufacturer Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ) has put its property up for sale at a starting price of about UAH 420 million, or US$15.9 million.

"Separately is offered the property of a debtor enterprise, namely PrJC Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (code of the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine EDRPOU 25480917), which is put up for sale at an auction as non-residential real estate with a total area of 142,220 square meters, equipment, and machinery. The price is UAH 419.36 million, including VAT," reads an announcement on the Central Universal Commodity Exchange's website, the economic news outlet Delo.ua reported on May 5.

As was earlier reported, the Economic Court on April 11 ruled on the reorganization of ZAZ with a six-month readjustment period, which includes the improvement in the social sphere, the preservation of existing jobs and creation of new ones. The plant must become a solvent enterprise, which is able to pay taxes to the local and state budgets.
This also refers to the withdrawal of ZAZ from the bankruptcy procedure in the shortest possible time. The enterprise should preserve its production infrastructure as much as possible and resume motor vehicle production.
