The service will be suspended starting from May 17; the last flight will be carried out on May 10. Now it is possible to buy tickets for flights to Uzhgorod or back online on the said date only, as tickets will no longer be sold next week, the airlines' contact center told the news portal Mukachevo.net on Monday, May 6.

The decision was made as local flights in Ukraine's Zakarpattia region are unprofitable, it said.

As was earlier reported, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan and outgoing President Petro Poroshenko, who arrived in the region as a presidential candidate running for the second term, launched the Kyiv-Uzhgorod flight on March 15, 2019.

So, the service was available for two months only. Since the launch of the flight, there have been a lot of questions about the affordability of the tickets, as the cheapest fare was UAH 2,000 (US$75). Moreover, the route suggested a two-hour stopover in Lviv.
