The equipment purchased by DTEK is said to be almost half the price of that of Sany.
After seven years of cooperation with Sany, a Chinese manufacturer of mine equipment, Ukrainian tycoon Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK has purchased equipment from another Chinese supplier, using Sany's documents.
Executive Director of Sany Heavy Equipment Zhihong Zhang informed about the negative experience of cooperation with DTEK, the Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda reported on May 7.

According to him, it was especially unpleasant for the company when "DTEK delivered the equipment to Ukraine and received permission from the State Labor Service of Ukraine to use it under our documents."
The equipment purchased by DTEK is said to be almost half the price of that of Sany.
"We were very surprised. DTEK is a big company, but it looks as if they were looking for the Chinese cheap equipment painted in a do-it-yourself manner," he said.
Zhihong Zhang clarified he did not know whether the equipment was old or new. However, he added, "this is not used in China-based mines."
"It seemed to us that they began to look at price rather than quality," he added.
The company's head also explained that DTEK used Sany's documents to obtain permits from the State Labor Service to operate the equipment since the mine had increased requirements for labor safety and equipment.
"So, we've got very serious disputes with them over this. Sany Ukraine, Heavy Equipment LLC is suing them. We are waiting for a court decision that will suspend the State Labor Service's permit and will oblige them to lift equipment from the mine to the surface," he said.
