The shipments of Ukrainian cheese abroad in monetary terms over the period under review shrank by 14%, to US$8.7 million, according to customs statistics reports posted by Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS) on its website.
Cheese imports into Ukraine in the four month of 2019 increased by 48%, to 5,500 tonnes, while the imports in monetary terms rose by 35.2%, to US$25.7 million.
Exports of condensed milk and cream from Ukraine in January-April 2019 remained unchanged year-over-year (9,800 tonnes), while in money terms, they rose by 17.9%, to US$19.7 million. Imports of these products over the period under review totaled 634 tonnes worth US$1.3 million, the report said.
Ukrainian producers in January-April 2019 exported 7,600 tonnes of creamery butter, which was 37% down y-o-y. The exports in monetary terms totaled US$30.9 million, which was 40.5% less than figure reported in the four months of 2018.
Over the period under review, creamery butter imports into Ukraine shrank by 4%, to 377 tonnes worth US$2.3 million.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine exported 8,000 tonnes of cheese in 2018, which was 8% down against 2017. Cheese imports into Ukraine in the past year soared by 37%, to 13,700 tonnes, according to customs statistics reports.
